Italian football manager and former player Antonio Conte Cavaliere OMRI (born July 31, 1969) is Tottenham Hotspur’s head coach in the Premier League.
Conte began his professional career with local club Lecce and went on to become one of Juventus’ most celebrated and important players. He served as captain and led the team to numerous victories, including the UEFA Champions League and five Serie A championships. He also represented Italy at two major international tournaments, the FIFA World Cup in 1994 and the UEFA Euro 2000, when Italy finished as runners-up on both occasions.
In 2006, he led Bari to the Serie B title, and two years later, Siena to promotion from the same tier. Prior to taking leadership of Italy’s national team, Juventus, in 2014, he won three consecutive Serie A titles. After that, he was appointed manager of Chelsea, where he won the Premier League title in his first season, the FA Cup in his second season, and was fired after Chelsea finished fifth in the league.
He became Inter Milan’s manager the following year, and in his first campaign, he led the club to the final of the UEFA Europa League. The following season, the squad won the Serie A title, and Conte left by mutual agreement. In November 2021, he will join Tottenham Hotspur.
Since its peak at the 1990 World Cup, the 3–5–2 configuration had seen very limited use. Conte has been credited with repopularizing it.
