WhatsApp Users Can Edit Sent Messages: Here’s How It Will Work

Whatsapp, a platform for instant messaging, is developing a feature that will allow users to modify delivered messages. Within a limited window of time, the sender will be able to revise their message using the “edit message” function. Instead of using the Delete Message button, you can use this helpful alternative instead. The functionality is being tested right now.

A ‘modified’ label will appear next to the text, and users will be able to make changes to their messages for up to 15 minutes after they’ve been sent, per WABetaInfo. When a message has been modified, the label “Edited” will appear next to it.

Furthermore, WhatsApp only allows you 15 minutes to change a message. An individual cannot view the message’s history in any way.

WhatsApp’s New Edit Message Feature Is Under Testing

There is no assurance that a message will be edited even if it is subject to editing. The receiver will not receive the edit message on their hand if they do not access their device within a day.

This functionality is currently being worked on, but there is no word yet on when it will be available. According to the report, the function can be found in the beta version of WhatsApp for Android (version 2.22.22.14) We don’t even know when a new update will roll out that fixes the notification problem.
