From Love to Separation: Leah Remini and Angelo Pagan End 21-Year Marriage

Leah Remini and Angelo Pagán have officially announced their decision to get a divorce.

“After 28 years together and 21 years of marriage, we have decided to file for divorce,” Remini and Pagán wrote in a lengthy joint Instagram post. “So, the big question — why? To put it simply, we both changed, as people do, and we got used to playing roles that didn’t fit us anymore.”

Also added “Our bond is still strong — it’s just evolved into something different.”

Remini and Pagán describe their separation as entirely amicable, highlighting that they view their long-lasting marriage as something to celebrate. They expressed their intention to continue being part of each other’s lives and creating cherished memories, albeit in a different capacity. The couple decided to make their split public, explaining that it was only fair to inform their fans since their relationship was shared so openly on television over the years.

They hope their experience will show others that changing or ending relationships are not failures. “We’ll continue to share parts of our lives as we move through this new chapter,” they added.

Married in Las Vegas in 2003 after meeting in 1996 at El Floridita, a Cuban club in LA, Remini described it as “love at first sight” in a 2010 Redbook interview. She later recalled their first encounter on RuPaul in 2019, noting how she made all the “wrong” moves, including asking him about his work hours.

Over the years, Remini and Pagán collaborated on various projects, including guest appearances on her popular sitcom The King of Queens. They are parents to a daughter, Sofia Bella, born on June 16, 2004, and Pagán has three sons from a previous relationship.
