After seeking mental health therapy earlier this summer at an inpatient institution, Jax Taylor is now receiving some answers.
“I checked into an intensive inpatient treatment facility a little over a month ago, scared of what I would find out about myself,” the 45-year-old Valley star wrote in an Instagram post on Monday, September 2.
“Recently, I discovered that I have been diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder and PTSD, after years of knowing something was off but not knowing exactly what it was.”
He continued, saying, “I’ve come home to my son with a new found sense of serenity, but it’s been a lot to comprehend and an emotional period for me. If I claimed I wasn’t afraid of what lies ahead, but my main goal right now is to improve upon who I was the day before.
The struggle with mental health is a lifetime endeavor; instead of allowing it to control you, you must learn to control it.
The Vanderpump Rules alumnus closed by expressing gratitude to his supporters and admirers for their unwavering support during his mental health journey. “You don’t realize how much your messages have helped me,” he wrote.
“Jax has consistently been open about his issues with mental health, particularly in the last few months on his podcast,” a representative for Taylor stated in a statement at the time. He has chosen to pursue therapy in a hospital.
For him and his family, this is an especially delicate moment. Until he is ready to talk more about this, they beg for discretion and respect.
Taylor will return home after 30 days in the facility, a representative for the reality star announced last month.

The representative continued, “He’s been through a difficult month and is most looking forward to spending time with his son.” Cartwright, 35, and Taylor have a 3-year-old son named Cruz.
The 2019 couple Cartwright and Taylor announced their divorce in February, just before Bravo’s first season of The Valley debuted. Cartwright formally filed for divorce last month, citing irreconcilable differences as the cause of the separation.
She requested primary legal and physical custody of Cruz, with Taylor being granted visiting rights, and identified their separation date as January 24. Cartwright is opposed to either of them receiving spousal support from the court.
On Friday, August 30, Cartwright revealed the details of her divorce on an episode of her and Taylor’s podcast, “When Reality Hit.”
She said, “Unfortunately, I can’t speak to specifics because we’re currently filming and everything has been extensively documented on the show.” “This season has been the most difficult season I have ever had to film, but you will see how everything plays out once the show airs.”
She refuted rumors that the split is a “publicity stunt” for The Valley and announced that she and Taylor will now conduct their show independently.
“I didn’t make the decision to file lightly or hastily,” she stated. It has taken me a very long time to reach the point where I have the bravery and strength to stand up for myself, leave a toxic relationship, and finally realize how valuable I am.
It’s been really challenging, but I’m stronger than ever because my baby, Cruzie, deserves a happy and healthy mother.
