Starz owes loyal fans of Jamie and Claire Season 6 of the historical drama Outlander, which keeps them eager as they have been waiting for several months.
As is known to all, the production of the sixth season of Outlander stopped in March as a result of the blockage generated by the coronavirus pandemic that is affecting the world.
In November, Outlander’s Jamie actor Sam Heughan said in an interview that the crew and cast were preparing to enter the film set. Also, he confirmed that the scripts and costumes were ready, but that there was no specific date to begin filming for season 6. Fans have remained hopeful that 2021 will be the year of the release.
Without a doubt, Outlander fans are desperate for any news on season 6 of the historical drama. Sadly, regulars were devastated with the latest update to Starz’s premiere schedule for 2021.
Importantly, Starz recently shared a promo for their 2021 schedule, and sadly season 6 of the time travel drama Outlander was not on next year’s schedule.
In this sense, the omission caused fans to panic about the future of the series, questioning its continuation and wanting to know what is going on. Star Sam Heughan promised that everything will be fine.
As fans will recall, Outlander was renewed by Starz for its sixth season in 2018, and there are still books from the Gabaldon saga to be adapted for television. Also, let’s remember that as executive producer Maril Davis put it, Outlander is the “least COVID-friendly” show due to the sheer number of extras and hot scenes between stars Heughan and Caitriona Balfe.
Taking into account the safety of the Outlander team and cast, they are currently working on being creative and in this way adapting to the COVID environment, an issue that takes a lot of work and enough time.
