Sex education is back in Season 3 and we’re preparing a big preview for Season 3. Season 3 was one of many Netflix shows hit by disruptions due to COVID-19, but the good news is that Season 3 production began in September 2020.
Since it’s one of the most-watched TV shows on Netflix to date, it’s no surprise that many are eagerly awaiting season three. We’ll keep you updated with all the latest news and information on Season 3, including what we can expect, casting, trailers, and of course the release date.
Season 3 production
After being postponed due to COVID-19, Netflix has officially confirmed that Sex Education Season 3 is in production! Hopefully, we’ll see some photos on set soon.
In early December, British Twitter Netflix posted some behind-the-scenes photos from life on set.
Season 3 new actors
In August 2020, thanks to Daniel Richtman, we learned about a completely new character that will enter Season 3. The new hero will be called Cal.
Cal is described as a “17-year-old boy” and is expected to be a long (non-cameo) role.
Sex Education Season 3 Release Date
Due to the global pandemic, filming for 3 seasons was not completed. And they will continue in 2021. When exactly the actors will return to the set is still unknown. Given these circumstances and the fact that the shooting of the first two seasons took a year, then season 3 should be expected only by the end of 2021.
As with previous seasons, we can expect a total of 8 episodes to be shown in Season 3, but we’re still waiting for confirmation.
What to expect from season 3
We learned a lot about Otis and the colorful characters from Mordale High School, and they also learned a lot about themselves. There are many more questions to be answered in Season 3, so here’s what we can expect from Sex Education Season 3:
Will Otis and Maeve find love?
Otis and Maeve love each other, but time and other factors have shown that they have not yet become a complete couple. By the end of the second season, Otis finally dared to confess his feelings for Maeve, declaring his love for the girl in her voicemail while she was busy competing in the school quiz finale. After Maeve’s mother and sister were taken away by social services, she was unable to hear the voicemail.
Isaac, a disabled boy who lives across from Maeve on the caravan grounds, listened to Maeve’s voicemail on his phone after hearing Otis’s statement. He has feelings for Maeve herself, so he deleted the voicemail before she could hear it. Even when Otis came to see where Maeve was, Isaac lied and told Otis that she had left and did not know when Maeve would return. In the third season, we will surely see the outcome of this situation.
Lily and Ola’s relationship
One of the most adorable girls in Moordale High School is Lily. Now in a relationship with Ola. While Lily doesn’t come across as a deceiver, she comes across as the most eccentric of all of Moordale’s students.
Ola instilled confidence in Lily. Open to a new world of pleasure and opportunities to explore it, Lily may be eager to experiment. Sex Education has covered many relationships, but we have yet to see a form of polygamy in this series. Of all the characters, Lily would be the most open to polygamy, but the question is whether Ola wants to get involved.
Jean is pregnant
Suffering from a broken heart, Jean previously thought she was in menopause, but then she was told that she might be pregnant! It’s unclear what Jean plans to do, but Otis could be the big brother in nine months.
Jean and Jacob still have a lot to do, the first one just realized his feelings. Throw in a baby and things only get more complicated. Not to mention, even if Otis and Ola are not related by blood, the child will be their sibling.
Jackson struggled to come to terms with what he wants to do in the future. Having found a passion for acting, Jackson still has a long way to go to become a good actor. However, parental pressure can still keep Jackson swimming.
Will Mr. Groff return?
Unfortunately, Mr. Groff is on temporary leave and has not been fired from his position as director. Mr. Groff is tall and will learn a lot if he wants to overcome conservative views.
