The Mandalorian Season 3: Plot, Cast And Everything We Know

The Mandalorian ‘ is the first live-action series in the ‘Star Wars’ franchise. Throughout season 2, the pair embarks on an adventure from one planet to another in their search for Jedi, who will take Baby Yoda and train him in the ways of the Force. But when the baby is kidnapped by Moff Gideon, an Imperial officer who wants to creating Force-friendly soldiers using the baby’s blood, Mando doesn’t stop for nothing to get his son back. After the intense end of the second season, it is natural for fans to click to learn more about the next season. Here’s what we know about season 3 of ‘The Mandalorian ‘.

Will The Mandalorian Win Season 3?

The 2nd season of ‘ The Mandalorian ‘ was released on October 30, 2020, on Disney +, and ended on December 18, 2020, after eight episodes. Fans will be delighted to know that even before the conclusion of the second season, the show has been renewed for a third season.

On December 10, 2020, during the Disney 2020 Investor Day event, Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy made an announcement about the launch of the third edition of the space adventure drama.

Allegedly, due to the delays caused by the pandemic COVID-19, it is scheduled to be launched shortly after the previous two installments. If all goes well, the third season of ‘ The Mandalorian’ will premiere around Christmas 2021.

The Plot Of The 3rd Season Of The Mandalorian: What Can Happen?

At the end of season 2 of The Mandalorian, Mando, and Grogu split up while Grogu leaves with Luke Skywalker to begin his Jedi training. On the other hand, Mando is left without a ship (since Razor Crest was destroyed) and a weapon he does not want.

After Mando defeated Moff Gideon in combat at the end of Season 2, he became the rightful owner of Darksaber, a powerful weapon that gives its wearer the right to claim the Mandalore throne. So, while Mando never wanted to have anything to do with the planet Mandalore, he becomes the involuntary heir to his throne.

The third season will possibly explore this story further and expand Mandalore’s tradition as well. Is Din Djarin destined to lead the fight to retake the Mandalorian homeworld and rule over it? It seems to be the direction the show is headed, but even if he rejects his destiny and takes a different path, Mando will almost certainly help Mandalore’s recovery.

Cast: Who Will Return?

It can be safely assumed that Pedro Pascal will repeat his role as Din Djarin, also known as titular Mando, next season. We have to be prepared for the possibility that Grogu (Baby Yoda), the main selling point of the series so far, will not make an appearance, as he is out with Luke Skywalker to train with him as a Jedi.

However, Mando has promised Grogu that they will meet again, so you never know, Disney and Lucasfilm may reunite the adorable duo next season.

Also returning to ‘ The Mandalorian’ in season 3 will be Giancarlo Esposito as the conniving Moff Gideon, possibly with an even bigger plot than what he has in the second season.

Gina Carano and Carl Weathers are also expected to repeat their roles as Cara Dune and Greef Carga, respectively. Feared Morrison as Boba Fett and Ming-Na Wen as Fennec Shand may not return to season 3 because they are having their own spin-off, ‘The Book of Boba Fett’ (debuting in December 2021). Katee Sackhoff’s Bo-Katan Kryze will also have a bigger role in season 3 of ‘The Mandalorian’.
