Jodie Comer may star in the prequel to “Mad Max” in the role of the young girl Furiosa alongside Richard Madden who would play one of the main roles, according to The GWW. The publication says George Miller and his studio would be targeting the two actors, while Comer would star in the lead role, Madden would take on another important character, who could be called Dementias.
Recently the “Mad Max” prelude focused on the young Furiosa was confirmed in a Collider podcast, which also revealed that Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, was already scheduled for the project.
“There are two stories, both involving ‘Mad Max’, and also a Furiosa story,” Miller previously told IndieWire about the future of the franchise. “We are still working out, we have to throw the thing to [Warner Bros.], it seems pretty clear that this is going to happen.”
Furiosa was originally played by Charlize Theron in “Mad Max: Fury Road”, starring alongside Tom Hardy. The Collider podcast stated that the production of the new film in the franchise was looking for a younger actress for the role because it was a prelude.
Originally launched in 1979, the “Mad Max” franchise has had four films over the decades, the most notable “Mad Max: Fury Road” received 10 Oscar nominations, including Best Film and Direction, the film still grossed $ 350 million at the box office.
