Given the complaint filed against him by FKA Twigs, the actor now wants to avoid stepping in jail.
Shia LaBeouf is keen to treat his psychological and addiction problems after singer FKA Twigs filed a lawsuit against him, accusing him of physical and verbal abuse during their relationship.
“Shia needs help and he knows it. We are actively seeking the kind of meaningful, intensive, and long-term hospital treatment that he desperately needs, ”said the actor’s attorney, Shawn Holley in an interview with Variety.
FKA Twigs alleged that he suffered a sexual assault from the actor, in addition to verbal and physical abuse, ranging from violent attacks to strangulation. She also accused him of having infected her with a sexually transmitted disease and having shot stray dogs with a gun to get into the character of his film The Tax Collector.
Twigs’ attorney, Bryan Freedman, said his client tried to resolve the matter privately, before going public with the lawsuit, asking LaBeouf to make a donation to an organization for victims of domestic violence and agree to receive psychological treatment, however, he refused.
If FKA’s lawsuit is successful, the actor could be sentenced to several years in prison.
