HBO recently announced that a reboot of the popular series is in the works, HBO’s vampire saga, True Blood, was quite popular, accumulating a large following. Fans of the show loved the atmosphere of the fictional southern city, the gripping love triangle, and the interesting characters.
True Blood was based on a series of books about a love story between a human and a vampire. However, that’s where the similarities end. Sookie Stackhouse’s novels, also known as the Southern Vampire Mysteries, were the inspiration for the HBO series.
Recall that True Blood follows the life of Sookie Stackhouse, a waitress with telepathic powers. It is set in the fictional town of Bon Temps, Louisiana, where humans and vampires live together thanks to the invention of synthetic blood that eliminates the need for vampires to drink human blood.
The series focuses on Sookie’s love life, as she falls in love with not just one, but two vampires. The love triangle between Bill, Sookie, and Eric created serious divisions among fans.
You had to choose sides, Team Bill or Team Eric, there was absolutely nothing in between. By the end of the seventh season, True Blood had accumulated a large following and became one of the most popular shows on HBO.
In turn, Anna Paquin played True Blood’s telepathic hero, Sookie Stackhouse. True Blood fans were very excited to hear the recent news about a reboot in the works on HBO.
Unfortunately, it appears that none of the original actors are scheduled to be a part of this reboot. Many of them seemed as surprised as their fans to learn of the upcoming project. According to the report, Paquin responded to the news on Twitter saying:
Similarly, the actress confessed that she was not angry, but some fans think that might not be true, after all, Paquin played the main character of the story for seven seasons and won a coveted award for his work. The reboot project is in the early stages of development, so it could be quite a while before fans return to the town of Bon Temps.
