An early Christmas present. The third season of “Cobra Kai” will be released next Friday, January 1, the same New Year’s Day and a week before originally announced by Netflix.

If you had no plans to celebrate the beginning of 2021, Netflix is offering you the opportunity to start the year with a marathon of your favorite series, since all 10 episodes of the third season will be available on the same day.

“Cobra Kai” is the continuation of a television series of the “Karate Kid” films, which was originally produced for YouTube before coming to Netflix as one of its exclusive content.

JOHNNY LAWRENCE’S GIFT

Netflix announced the premiere of the third season with a video where Johnny Lawrence ( William Zabka ) himself is responsible for advancing the date after manipulating the streaming platform. Johnny also left this message, true to form:

“Silence. I heard you all complaining that season 3 was taking forever. So I called the pawn shop and the guy walked me through this Netflix thing. He knows what he’s doing. Now they will have it a week before ”.

In itself, the third season of “Cobra Kai” was recorded before Netflix acquired the series, but the company preferred to first launch the two initial seasons in August 2020 before presenting the third installment, which will finally arrive in January 2021.

For his third season, Daniel LaRusso will return to Okinawa to visit Mr. Miyagi’s home and meet up with some old friends and enemies. So far, the return of Kumiko (Tamlyn Tomita) and Chozen (Yuji Okumoto), characters from the second ” Karate Kid ” movie, has been confirmed.

According to its official synopsis, season three “will find everyone reeling from the aftermath of the violent high school brawl between their dojos, which has left Miguel in critical condition. As Daniel searches his past for answers and Johnny seeks redemption, Kreese further manipulates his vulnerable students with his own vision of dominance. The soul of the Valley is at stake and the fate of every student and sensei in the balance.
