Produced by Shonda Rhimes, Bridgerton has finally arrived on Netflix. After a long wait, fans can follow the adaptation of the characters created by Julia Quinn. The first season covers the events of the book The Duke and Me and shows Daphne getting involved with Simon, the Duke of Hastings. But their path to true love will not be easy.
So, after marathon all the episodes, fans are looking for more information. Will there be a second season? With this, the Series Mix brings all the necessary information you need to know.
This is a delicate point. That’s because Netflix usually releases its seasons annually. However, with the current situation, this window may take some time. So initially, the second season of Bridgerton is expected to open in December 2021. But don’t be surprised if Netflix postpones its debut and plays it to 2022.
Cast: Who’s Coming Back?
Expect all royalty to return in season two. So Phoebe Dynevor (Daphne Bridgerton), Regé-Jean Page (Simon Basset, Duke of Hastings), Jonathan Bailey (Anthony Bridgerton, Viscount Bridgerton), Luke Thompson (Benedict Bridgerton), Luke Newton (Colin Bridgerton), Claudia Jessie ( Eloise Bridgerton), as well as Ruth Gemmell (Lady Violet Bridgerton) are guaranteed attendance. After all, the series revolves around these characters.
However, other names may return. And that includes Nicola Coughlan (Penelope Featherington), Polly Walker (Lady Portia Featherington), Adjoa Andoh (Lady Danbury), Ruby Baker (Mariana Thompson) and Golda Rosheuvel (Queen Charlotte).
Spoilers: What’s Next?
At the end of the first season, fans were thrilled with the Duke of Hastings giving in to Daphne’s charms. He had decided not to have children after being disowned by his father. The idea, therefore, was that the Hastings’ lineage would end. But, after getting romantically involved with the Duchess, he saw that he could be happy with her and give her children. That’s how, in the end, we finally see the protagonist getting pregnant and then having her baby.
The second season, in this way, will be able to approach the events from this perspective. Although, in the second book, the protagonist is Anthony. So it is possible that the second season will approach events from the perspective of Jonathan Bailey’s character.
In the original book, Anthony decides to put an end to his single life and, therefore, find a wife to marry. He soon decides that Edwina Sheffield, the season’s most beautiful debutante, is the ideal candidate. But in order to take her to the altar, he must first convince Kate, the older sister of the young woman, that he deserves to marry her.
It will not be an easy task, because Kate does not believe that ex-libertines can become good husbands and will not let Edwina fall into his clutches. The turnaround, however, happens when both Kate and Anthony are attracted to each other.
In addition, at the end of the first season, the public discovers the identity of Lady Whistle down. However, the characters in the series do not find out. And that identity is expected to be kept secret during the events of next season. That’s because the “gossip” is unmasked only in the fourth book of the franchise.
As soon as more news about the second season is confirmed, we will update this story. So, what do you expect from the second season of Bridgerton?
