Although Netflix’s catalog is immense and there is much to see, the platform usually makes a ranking with the productions that are trending.
Currently, the series ranking is led by a production that has become very popular since its premiere on December 4. It’s about Selena: The Series, based on the career of the legendary ranchera singer Selena Quintanilla.
Created by Moises Zamora and directed by Hiromi Kamata, this new Netflix proposal focuses on the life and work of the artist, from the beginning of her musical dream in her garage to becoming the mythical queen of Tex Mex.
After the successful debut of its first season, many wonder if the series will have a continuation since there is still much to tell. The last episode of the season culminates five years before his tragic death in 1995.
According to what Elle magazine reports, the series was divided into two parts and the second season would already be recorded. It will focus on Selena’s marriage to Chris Pérez and her relationship with Yolanda Saldívar, the woman who ended her life. Although there is no release date yet, it is estimated that the new episodes could arrive in April 2021, coinciding with what would have been the artist’s 50th birthday.
Christian Serratos, the protagonist of the series, spoke with The Oprah Magazine about what is to come and said the following: “In the second part we will see much more of the icon that was Selena. I had much more to base my performance on, but it was stressful because people know Selena very well. There was added pressure. ”
Selena: The series stars the aforementioned Serratos, Seidy Lopez , Ricardo Chavira , Noemí González and Gabriel Chavarria .
