Now that We Can Be Heroes is already available on Netflix and Robert Rodriguez ( Battle Angel: The Last Warrior ) has developed a superhero movie made up of many boys and girls, many are wondering if this is the perfect excuse to develop one or more sequels on the title and thus expand this universe that many have liked.

“Mini spies didn’t become Mini spies in the last scene of the movie, these kids don’t become heroes until the last scene of the movie,” Robert, director of movies like Machete Kills and Grindhouse, told Digital Spy about the possibility. of making a sequel to We Can Be Heroes: “So even if you didn’t make a sequel, the audience can still imagine sequels because their imaginations will run away.”

The filmmaker who recently was behind an episode of season 2 of The Mandalorian assured that if We Can Be Heroes goes well he would be delighted to continue developing continuations: “If this is successful I would love to do a sequel. I already have many ideas for more children in the future, more adventures, now they are becoming a team. I could go on and on with this. ”

‘We Can Be Heroes’: The 24 Heroics, children and powers that appear in the Netflix movie

On the other hand, Robert pointed out that, contrary to what many think, We Can Be Heroes is not a sequel to The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl, released 15 years ago, so he told Forbes: “People get confused because the characters in Sharkboy and Lavagirl are in We Can Be Heroes and they think it is a sequel to The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl, but it is not. In the original movie, those characters are actually from the dream world and not the real world, but I made them real just so this would legitimize the adult team … ”

Also, selfishly, I always loved the powers of sharks and the powers of lava and wanted one of the children to have at least one of those powers, if not both.

Finally, the producer of Ugly Dolls and Death Proof pointed out that neither Lavagirl nor Sharkboy was in their initial plan for We Can Be Heroes: “They were not originally in the script. It was a whole new franchise that was not based on anything old, a Netflix original movie that could be a potential series of movies like Mini Spies. ”

So Robert Rodríguez does not close the door to expand We Can Be Heroes, so it is now Netflix’s decision to continue with this project or leave it in this installment only.
