This Friday, December 4, Netflix presented a new official trailer for We Can Be Heroes, the sequel to the classic teen fantasy film, Sharkboy and Lavagirl.
We Can Be Heroes will be directed by Robert Rodríguez, the same director of The Adventures of Sharkboy and LavaGirl, the saga of Mini-Spies and Planet Terror. He is also one of the executive producers of the series From Dusk Till Down and El Rey Nation.
We Can Be Heroes is an original movie that Netflix will star The Mandalorian, Pedro Pascal, Priyanka Chopra, Christian Slater, Taylor Dooley and Jeffrey Dashnaw, who replaces Taylor Lautner how SharkBoy, among others.
The film focuses on a fantasy world where Earth is protected by a group of superheroes called The Heroics. When they are defeated by an alien invasion, humanity’s fate will depend on their children.
Each of the children has unique abilities that they inherited from their respective parents. One of the most prominent will be Guppy, played by Vivien Lyra Blair, who has now inherited the powers of controlling water and super strength from her father, Sharkboy.
The cast is completed by Hala Finley, Yaya Gosselin, Dylan Henry Lau, Isaiah Russell Bailey, and Lotus Blossom.
When does We Can Be Heroes premiere on Netflix?
At the moment there is no release date announced for the new Robert Rodríguez film. However, We Can Be Heroes is expected to premiere on Netflix in early 2021.
