‘Spider-Man: A New Universe 2’: Oscar Isaac’s Spider-Man Conformed For The Sequel?

While in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (UCM) they plan a mega ‘crossover’ with past versions of Spider-Man, the Oscar-winning ‘ Spider-Man: A New Universe ‘ goes its own way. And also with many and very different arachnid men and women. The film’s sequel, directed by Joaquim Dos Santos and produced by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, begins to reveal some details of its history and its characters, and perhaps they have just confirmed in a very cryptic way a stellar signing that we already saw coming from the post-credit scene from its predecessor.

This is Miguel O’Hara, better known as Spider-Man 2099, a futuristic version of the character (in one of those many alternative realities born from the Marvel comics), created by Rick Leonardi and Peter David in 1992. O’Hara is a young scientist from New York, of Mexican and Irish descent, who adopts the secret identity of ‘Spider-Man’ after accidentally obtaining superhuman powers. In ‘Spider-Man: A New Universe’, he makes a cameo in the post-credits scene, leaving us wondering if it will be an important piece in the future of the story or if it is simply a nod to comic book fans. But the most surprising of all is that Oscar Isaac is the one who voices the character in that cameo. Could you continue to bring it to life in the film’s sequel?

This is what the production’s official Twitter account seems to suggest, which has shared the first images of the character, although without any message confirming or denying that we will see him soon in ‘Spider-Man: A new universe 2’ or that Isaac will put voice again. Just this: “A year less by 2022”.

While we wait for Sony to break its silence on this matter, we can only wish that the ‘Star Wars’ actor is on board in the project and that we can continue to see more and more versions of Spider-Man. To infinity and beyond? Everything seems possible in the imposing animation of this particular saga that was born in 2018, and of whose sequel we expect news very soon. The premiere is scheduled for 2022.
