Jason Isaacs would be delighted to join The Mandalorian to embody the Grand Inquisitor in live-action.
Star Wars Rebels gifted fans with its fair share of great characters. Although, sadly, not all are appreciated by the fandom of the franchise. One of the great villains that the animated series presented is the Grand Inquisitor, a former Jedi Guardian turned hunter with a mission to catch the surviving Jedi of Order 66 and eliminate them. Will we see it in The Mandalorian?
Jason Isaacs, who we’ve already seen play the villain Lucius Malfoy in the famous Harry Potter saga, voiced the Grand Inquisitor in Dave Filoni’s Star Wars Rebels series. In this way, the actor not only had the love of the magician’s fans but now also with the fandom of a galaxy far away. With the success of The Mandalorian, the actor was asked about possible participation in the series and this is what he answered.
Will we see it in the series?
With the resurgence of many great characters from Rebels and The Clone Wars through The Mandalorian, Jason Isaacs revealed to the Collider medium that he would be delighted to reprise the character in the hit Star Wars and Disney + series. Let’s remember that this move was very well received by the fans, mainly with Ahsoka Tano.
But those who have seen Star Wars Rebels will know that the Grand Inquisitor is quite complicated. Spoilers! At the end of the first season, Kanan Jarrus duels him, so it should be the end of the character, although we would see him later in a vision. However, the Star Wars comics reveal that Darth Vader bound the Grand Inquisitor’s spirit to an ancient Jedi temple, entrusting him with eternal custody. That could be one way Jason Isaacs could somehow briefly pick up the character.
