Lupin Season 2: Release Date, Cast, Plot And Other Details

Lupin Season 2

The first five episodes of the original heist drama Lupin were a significant hit for Netflix. Soon after the series proved to the streaming stage, it broke the list of the top ten most popular series on Netflix globally, marking the first time a French series has done so.

In Lupin, Omar Sy plays Assane Diop, the son of Babakar Siop, a Senegalese immigrant in France. Babakar was framed for the theft of a precious necklace by Hubert Pellegrini, for whom he functions as a caretaker. Being forced to take the fall for the offense finally resulted in Babakar’s death. In the series’ present, Assane is out to avenge his dad by exposing the Pellegrini family’s corruption. In doing so, he takes inspiration from the adventures of Arsène Lupin, a literary French gentleman thief popular in pop culture both in France and abroad.

Bucking the trend popularized by the streaming support of releasing every episode of a season at once (one of Netflix’s attempts to encourage binge-watching), Netflix opted instead to release only the first season’s first five episodes upon its premiere. Its final five episodes are coming. Here’s what we know about those five episodes in advance of the release.

Is Lupin season 2 debuting in 2021?

As we previously mentioned, Netflix recently declared that Lupin will be returning for its highly-anticipated second part during summertime 2021. So yes, season 2 will be premiering this past year. On the other hand, the specific date remains unidentified. And of course, most of us remain in suspense for the time being.

But don’t worry Lupin fans. We’re keeping our eyes peeled for updates on this one. The moment part 2’s supported introduction date is announced, we’ll be the first to allow you to know.

Who is in the cast of Lupin season 2?

What is the plot of Lupin Part 2?

Since Lupin Part two will pick up immediately where its first part left off, its storyline is expected to resolve some of the strain built up throughout the series’ first five episodes. After Part 1, a henchman working for Hubert Pellegrini kidnaps Assane and Claire’s son Raoul. As of this fifth episode’s conclusion, Raoul remains missing. Lupin is occasionally dark in tone but not hopeless, therefore Raoul is very likely to make it back home at any point during Part 2.

Central to the pressure between Assane and Claire is the fact that Claire is unaware of the scope of Assane’s secret existence. That includes both his endeavors as a gentleman burglar and an affair shown in episode 5 involving him and Hubert Pellegrini’s daughter Juliette. That matter is likely to be resolved in part 2, whether via a reconciliation between Assane and Claire or their falling outside.

Finally, Detective Youssef, as the narrative now stands, is the sole investigator leery of Assane’s role as a gentleman thief. How that knowledge may hinder Assane’s quest for revenge is likely to influence the story of Part 2.
