Ginny And Georgia just fell on Netflix yesterday and is already pulling in a lot of viewers and climbing the site’s trending charts. Drawing lots of similarities to Gilmore Girls (whose resurrection was also dispersed by Netflix), Ginny & Georgia also depicts a close-knit mother-daughter relationship with a young, hip mum, Georgia (Brianne Howey), that had her teenage daughter, Ginny (Antonia Gentry), when she was only 15. At the beginning of the series, Georgia moves to a new city, with Ginny and her younger son Austin (Diesel La Torraca), following the passing of her husband (her children’s stepfather).
However, regardless of the first comparisons made, as soon as viewers tune in, it becomes evident that this series has a lot of important differences from Gilmore Girls — namely, the tone and plot are much darker, such as keys and even murders.
Following a wild ride of the first season, fans are going to hear about what is coming. Here’s what we know up to now about a possible season 2 of Ginny & Georgia.
When will Ginny and Georgia season 2 be released?
Season one dropped in February 2021, so if the show gets a green light then the oldest it may debut is in 2022.
The condition of the coronavirus pandemic could have a direct effect on filming and possibly impact the release.
There are likely to be just another 10 episodes that will be dropped on Netflix in 1 go for lovers to binge.
Additionally, the release could be affected by when a choice is made from Netflix.
Of course, the cast will return.
Ginny & Georgia wouldn’t be Ginny & Georgia without Antonia Gentry and Brianne Howey, who portray the mother and daughter during their tumultuous relationship–not to mention Diesel La Torraca, who play Austin.
Fisher explains that the show’s casting director, Alyssa Weisberg, found Gentry fast. But, finding Howey was more of a challenge. “It was on our very last day. We’re supposed to have these choices made. We then received a very late cassette night from Brianne Howey who had just returned from Europe, getting engaged to her fiancé [Matt Ziering]. We watched it and we were like we must get this girl come in and see with Tony (Antonia) right away.”
In terms of the rest of the cast? Georgia’s crew is performed by Schitt’s Creek’s Jennifer Robertson, Scott Porter of Friday Nights Lights, and Raymond Ablack. Ginny’s friends are played with Sara Waisglass, Felix Mallard, Katie Douglas, Mason Temple, Chelsea Clark, and Humberly Gonzalez.
Ginny & Georgia Season 2 Story
Life becomes particularly difficult for Ginny during the last two episodes of Ginny & Georgia season 1. Her dad Zion suddenly appears and reveals that he would like to move the whole family to Boston, only to then backtrack after realizing Georgia has powerful feelings for Paul. Ginny also cheats on her boyfriend Hunter with neighbor Marcus and seems entirely confused about what she wants. So when Ginny learns that Georgia was forging documents associated with her younger brother Austin, she decides that it is finally time to depart.
Ginny and Austin probably went to Boston to stay with Zion, who will re-locate to Wellsbury since he understands that his daughter wants to be with her friends. In Ginny & Georgia season 2 on Netflix, more individuals in the past will likely emerge, and Georgia is going to be made to clarify a few of her past decisions. With Zion back in the town, he’ll probably wish to reconnect with Georgia, which will lead to a battle with Paul. Ginny & Georgia season 1 ends with the focal teenager implying that she has to “maintain running,” but everything suggests that she will return to Wellsbury in Ginny & Georgia season 2 and reunite with her “MANG” allies.
