Apple TV + is looking for its niche and managing to make its way through the catalogs of other streaming platforms and it seems that it is succeeding: one of its fictions, Ted Lasso, has become one of its greatest successes. The comedy headed by Jason Sudeikis began as a promotional advertisement and has become a fiction praised by all, to the point that its protagonist won the Golden Globe for Best Comedy Actor. Ten days after the premiere of its first season in August 2020, the series was confirmed for a second installment.

After a few months of waiting without knowing anything about our favorite soccer coach, last January the platform wanted to show a preview to show that they were already working on the new chapters of the fiction. “Time to start warming up. The production of the second season of Ted Lasso has already begun, ”the tweet read. In this way, Apple TV + has been revealing some details of the second season and the last of them has been the signing of Sarah Niles ( I could destroy you ), who joins the cast as Sharon, a sports psychologist who works with AFC Richmond.
The co-creator of the series, Bill Lawrence, detailed that the new chapters of the fiction, which are currently in full recording, will not incorporate the coronavirus pandemic to continue to give the viewer an “escapist entertainment. ” While season 2 of Ted Lasso promises to arrive this summer, the third installment already has the green light and there are no signs that it will end there: “We have no idea how long the series is going to last, but I bet it will. we’ll keep doing it as long as it’s fun. You will know that the fiction ends if Ted suddenly enjoys a glass of British tea, ” says the creator, jokingly.

Beyond Ted Lasso, Lawrence is right now immersed in the production of a new project: the pilot chapter one reboot of First Class ( Head of the Class ), the series of the eighties issued on ABC. It is a multi-camera comedy for HBO Max with Isabella Gomez ( Day to Day ) as the main character (who will play the homologous role of Howard Hesseman but changing gender) as well as Gavin Lewis ( Little Fires Everywhere ), Jorge Diaz ( Jane The Virgin ) or Christa Miller ( Scrubs). Together with Bill Lawrence, Amy Pocha, and Seth Cohen, screenwriters of American Vandal, are working on the project.
