Lupin Renewed For Season 2 In Netflix

Lupin Season 2

The Netflix series Lupin returns with Part 2 this summer, and the streamer has shared some new images teasing the upcoming episodes. A French puzzle thriller, Lupin stars Omar Sy as Assane Diop, a man inspired by the fictional thief Arsène Lupin. The show follows Assane’s quest to get revenge on the powerful Pellegrini family following its patriarch, Hubert, who framed Assane’s dad for a crime which finally resulted in his death. Lupin also focuses on Assane’s relationship with his son, Raoul, as he balances his bond together with his mission.

Lupin Part 1 was released in January 2021 and consisted of five episodes. The series premiered to nearly universal acclaim, with many critics praising Sy’s performance along with the show’s brisk pace. Part 1 ended on a cliffhanger, with Raoul kidnapped by Leonard, one of Pellegrini’s henchmen. That will no doubt be a major part of Lupin Part two, as shown in a trailer for its forthcoming episodes. There’s no particular release date for Part 2 at this time other than summer, but some fresh images should tide viewers over in the meantime.

The pictures shared by Netflix suggest viewers can expect more of what made Lupin Part 1 a victory, with a similar look and feel to the previous episodes. Check out the brand new images below:

While the images do not give away a lot about Lupin Part 2, they are a fantastic way to build enthusiasm for the upcoming episodes. Thinking about the massive cliffhanger at the end of the Component 1 finale, it’s nice there will not be too long of a wait for the resolution. The tweet from Netflix using the pictures still only says Part 2 is”Coming this summer,” but a more specific release date will be announced shortly. This window opens in June as a possibility, so viewers could be just a month away from seeing Lupin Part 2.

It’ll be intriguing to see if the show can maintain the success of Part 1. The trailer and images suggest the quality will stay high, but viewers won’t know for certain until the new episodes release. It helps that Lupin Part 2 will be the same span as Part 1, since its action-packed pace proved to be a large draw of the first five episodes. It feels like a series that benefits from shorter runs, effectively drawing crowds in with its immersive storytelling in a really quick period of time. Lupin Part 1 certainly left audiences wanting more, and Part 2 appears poised to do the same when it debuts this summer.
