The Sex Education story so far
Laurie Nunn has created Sex Education, which is a comedy-drama. Season 1 follows an insecure teenager, who was educated at Moordale Secondary School. His mom Dr. Jean Milburn, a sex therapist, opens a school sex therapy clinic. This gives him humorous results.
The series premiered on Netflix on January 11, 2019. It features cast members like Asa Butterfly (as Otis Milburn), Gillian Anderson (“Dr. Jean Milburn”), Emma Mackey (“Maeve Wiley”), Connor Swindells (“Adam Groff”), Aimee Lou (Aimee Gibbs), Kedar William-Stirling (“Jackson Marchetti”) and many others.
The teen drama was highly acclaimed by critics and enjoyed commercial success on Netflix. More than 40 million people watched the first series of its premiere. Sex Education Season 2 was released on January 17, 2020.
Jean Milburn was seen visiting her doctor after feeling sick in season 2. Here she learns she’s pregnant. She is stunned by her unexpected pregnancy. Jean Milburn may end her pregnancy, but viewers may see the third season. Maeve also finds out that Jean Milburn is using drugs once again and calls social services to report this. Maeve, Viv, and their quiz team won nationals.
Jackson appears in the school musical. Near the close of the musical, Adam comes out and confesses his feelings to Eric. Eric then reciprocates. The school administrator also puts Mr. Groff out of commission. Otis leaves Maeve, an apology and message of love, by leaving a voicemail. Isaac deletes the message and takes Otis with him when he visits her.
Gillian Anderson shared Jean Milburn’s pregnancy news with Sex Education Season 3 and stated that Jean was “trying to negotiate how she will deal with that regarding Jakob, and also Otis.” Asa Butterfield hinted at the plot. He claimed that the new series would start after a gap in time.
“There’s a bit of a time-jump since the season two cliffhanger,” Asa Butterfield said to The Guardian. “Otis’s back at school but he has more on his plate. He has grown up a little and is now slightly sassier.
“It was fun to show his newfound charisma. However, he is still tragically awkward …. “We were photographed by paparazzi while filming. People have been freaking out over Otis sporting a mustache,” Otis added.
When he was asked how the relationship between Otis Milburn and Maeve Wiley (played by Emma Mackey) would play out in Sex Education Season 3, he stated, “People get quite cross when we tease them and stretch it out. Season three continues to show their growing relationship.
The filming for Sex Education Season 3 was held in Herefordshire in the village Symonds. Llandogo, further south at the Wye Vale in Monmouthshire was also used as a location for filming. A Twitter user shared a picture of the house as part of ongoing filming.
