Kakegurui follows the fortunes of students at Hyakkou Private Academy, a school where pupils are encouraged to improve their gambling skills rather than their academic or athletic abilities. Until Yumeko Jabami enters the picture, the worst players face a lot of humiliation. This anime was first broadcast in 2017 (it was added to Netflix in 2018), almost four years ago, and it features two seasons with a total of 12 episodes. The second season, dubbed Kakegurui xx, premiered in 2019; now that 2021 has gone, it’s time for the third season to air.
Do you agree with me? Fans have been waiting for “Kakegurui” to be renewed for a third season despite production delays caused by the COVID-19 outbreak. There hasn’t been any word on whether or not Kakegurui Season 3 will be renewed. Here’s all we know so far about the upcoming episodes of this beloved anime.
Kakegurui Season 3: Release Date
It’s unknown if “Kakéguri” Season 3 will return as long as Mappa or Netflix, which is licenced to stream the series outside of Japan, do not make a firm renewal announcement. Popularity and the amount of source material available are frequently factors in renewals. Homura Kawamoto wrote and Tooru Nomura drew the Japanese manga series “Kakegurui,” which presently has 14 volumes and 82 chapters. The anime has so far covered 56 episodes, which indicates there is practically enough material for another season.
The first season concluded with an original episode, and the second season ended with an original episode as well (in both cases, a conclusion was written in case the show wasn’t renewed). There would undoubtedly be three seasons left to air in that event. The popularity of the series is in doubt. Netflix does not provide statistics on its users’ watching habits. Furthermore, the number of admirers and ratings do not reflect the actual number of individuals who watch. A series renewal today would force the project into production, so a 2022 premiere is still possible.
Kakegurui Season 3: Cast
We don’t have any official information on season 3 from the creators, thus we don’t know who the final characters will be. However, there are a few individuals who will undoubtedly return in Season 3. There may be some character changes in a season that we will see in season 3. However, the following characters are certain to appear in Season 3:
- Yumeko Jabami voiced by Saori Hayami
- Ryota Suzuki voiced by Tatsuya Tokutake
- Kirari Momobami voiced by Miyuki Sawashiro
- Mary Saotome voiced by Minami Tanaka
- Sayaka Igarashi voiced by Ayaka Fukuhara
- Runa Yomozuki voiced by Mayu Udono.
So these are the confirmed characters who will undoubtedly appear in the much-anticipated new season of Kakegurui.
Kakegurui Season 3: Plot
“Kakegurui,” which ran for two seasons, appeared to be coming to a close on a high note. If the show isn’t picked up for a second season, it may be renewed. Season 1 seems to be a more pleasant episode than Season 2. At the end of Season 2, there was some ambiguity about what had happened. Because the manga had not yet caught up to the animation, it was not included in the last episodes of “Kakegurui.”
The previous episode focused on a vote-buying auction for presidential contenders. Yumeko stakes Yumeko’s Jabami, while Rei stakes 3,000,000 yen (and her livestock status). Yumeko would be defeated and exiled. Yumeko may win, but gambling costs her a lot of votes. Kirari recognises Rei’s willpower and admires it and lets her choose a new name.
In the third season of this shonen-anime, these strands are expected to be continued. Because Rei’s appearance in the manga is such a deviation, we can’t be sure how closely events will follow the upcoming chapters. More electoral dramas are on the way, as well as a drama about Mary and her Momobami sisters.
Kakegurui Season 3: Trailer
There is currently no official trailer for the upcoming show, and one will not be released for some time as the season has not yet been renewed. However, there are several fan-made trailers floating around the internet that you can watch to obtain significant hints about the forthcoming show’s storyline, or you can watch the past seasons on Netflix.
