Spider Man No Way Home writers Dodge questions about future Marvel movies

Spider-Man: No Way Home closes Tom Holland’s first solo trilogy in the Marvel movie universe later this week. Depending on who you talk to, Holland may or may not return. Sony executive and Spider-Man producer Amy Pascal suggested earlier this month that the beloved MCU favorite would return for another trilogy, an idea that Sony Pictures boss Tom Rothman , denied Brandon Davis of ComicBook.com Monday night.

Now, No Way Home writers Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers are being wary of what is being said during the film’s red carpet release. Speaking to Variety, McKenna said they both know better than to say anything in front of any potential Marvel brass.

“We’re smart enough for‘ A ’to say nothing and‘ B ’to know you can’t count on anything,” McKenna told the trade.

This is not the last Marvel movie we will make. [this is not] the latest Spider-Man movie, “Pascal said during the first No Way Home press events.” We’re getting ready to make the next Spider-Man movie with Tom Holland and Marvel. We’re thinking about these three movies, and now we’ll move on to the next three. This is not the last of our MCU movies. “

While Rothman was cautious in confirming another trilogy, he reminded us that Holland will appear in at least one more Marvel Studios-produced film as part of his current deal.

“It’s reciprocal. So we lend one, and they lend one, and that’s how Benet is. [Cumberbatch] it’s in this movie, ”Rothman explained.“ So we have a more committed ‘return’. But what I can say, and this is the precise scoop on that, is that the two companies have a fantastic working relationship. I think it is a mutual hope that this will continue. But there is really nothing definite at the moment, because the truth is that we have to ride [Spider-Man: No Way Home] and see what happens “.

Spider-Man: No Way Home will be released on December 17th. What other characters in the Spidey family do you think will end up in the next role? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section or by calling our writer @AdamBarnhardt on Twitter to chat about all things MCU!
