Earlier this week, Big Hit Music announced that Jimin had been rushed to the emergency room after experiencing sudden abdominal pain and a mild sore throat. After he was diagnosed with both acute appendicitis and COVID-19, Jimin underwent surgery on January 31, and he remained in the hospital for several days afterward to be treated for COVID-19 in conjunction with his postoperative care.

On February 5, Big Hit Music officially announced that Jimin had been discharged from the hospital after recovering from COVID-19.
