During an appearance on ET Live on Thursday, the 36-year-old actor, who portrays Magnus Bane in the fantasy series, discussed his character’s journey and what’s to come in the final episodes.
Magnus’ sufferings and tribulations, as well as his efforts to aid others, have been made clear to the audience. Shum Jr.’s character, on the other hand, appears to be in for more challenges as the third season progresses.
“Hundreds of years ago, this figure was alive and well. A human creature beneath his magical persona struggles to wear the mask he must put on at times “An explanation was given by the performer. “This final quest is wonderful because you get to witness him stripped of his power, which he thought distinguished him.
I completely agree. In the future, it will be interesting to observe how he adapts to life without this extraordinary ability.”
Shum Jr. is gearing up for the next chapter in the Crazy Rich Asians plot, but it will be long before the next one is released. The Crazy Rich Asians creators are “right now looking at making sure they can live up to the first one, but bear in mind the different stories and different people,” he revealed.
“Despite the fact that I expect it will take some time, I’m looking forward to it. Kevin Kwan has created a lovely environment, and I think we should take the time to explore all that he has to offer.”
Shum, on the other hand, is most looking forward to becoming a father. A baby girl is on the way for him and his wife Shelby Rabara as they await the arrival of their first child.
“It’s getting closer and closer to being a reality….
We’re taking care of everything so that we can focus solely on caring for the baby. When he learned what the pregnancy was, it was “amazing,” he said, adding that his wife is “a superhero” to him.”
The cast of Shadowhunters, including Dominic Sherwood, Isaiah Mustafa, Alberto Rosende, and Shum Jr., sat down for an interview with ET to discuss the series’ upcoming finale. What they said can be heard in the video below.
