Explanation of The Invitation’s Ending!!

the invitation ending

Will wanders into his old house and relives many memories, including the death of his little son Ty and Eden’s attempted suicide. Will feels something is awry with David and his friends throughout the movie.

Will later receives a voice message from Choi informing him that he has arrived in Eden early. Eden and David will confront them and demand to know what happened to her. Choi arrives late due to the chaos, as he returns to his office for some work.

Will’s comments to Eden and David have made him humiliated? He then expresses regret to each of them. Tommy arrives in the stairwell behind David, holding something. David turns, cries, collides with Tommy, and the two struggle down the stairs.

Tommy is able to relax by dipping a knife into David. He takes the key out of David’s pocket. For Eden, he gets down on the dining room floor. She tells him she misses him, which implies Ty, as she takes her final wet breaths.

Will agrees to take her out. Kiara follows, assisting Will in bringing Eden back out to where he will be laid down. He eventually dies there. Tommy stutters as he approaches Kira. Will and Kiara say they’ll meet Miguel on the street when Tommy says he has to go back to pick up Miguel.

Will then observed that the red lantern that David had shown him before was still shining brightly. Soon, he/we notice at least a dozen red lanterns near other houses on the hill!

Summary of The Plot of The Invitation

Will drives to a reunion party hosted by his ex-wife Eden and her husband, David, with his girlfriend Kira. Tommy, Miguel, Gina, Ben, and Claire were among the other guests. Sadie and Pruitt, two of David’s pals, also came to the party. Eden and David met in a support group. Sadie and Pruitt are also members of the ‘Invitation’ group.

Will goes around his old residence, reliving events such as the death of his little son Ty and Eden’s attempted suicide. Will feels something is up with David and his friends throughout the film.

Will later receives a voice message from Choi stating that he arrived to Eden’s early. Will confronts Eden and David, demanding to know what happened to him. Choi arrives late after all the chaos since he had returned to his office for some work. Will is humiliated by what he said to Eden and David. He then expresses regret to each of them.

Eden and David then offer everyone a drink. Will thinks there’s something in the beverages. After that, he smashes everyone’s glasses. Will is forcefully attacked by Sadie, while Gina passes out while sipping her drink. Miguel, Choi, and Ben are all shot by David.

As a result, tensions between the survivors rise. The surviving survivors try to flee the house, but all of the doors and windows are locked. Will overhears David telling Eden that whatever they’re doing is the only way they’ll be able to get out of their misery. Kira suffocates Pruitt, while Tommy stabs David. Eden shoots Will and then herself in the shoulder.

What Was the Significance of The Red Lantern?

the invitation ending

When everything appears to be coming to an end, the sense of relief is abruptly cut off. Will and Kira notice several red lanterns in the darkness while staring at the Hollywood Hills.

Screams, gunfire, and multiple sirens could be heard in the background. They learn that they were not the only ones involved in this.

David ignited the red lantern before the drinks were brought, as we witnessed earlier. This showed that it was a precursor to the start of ominous occurrences.

Many people in Los Angeles have been brainwashed by the cult group ‘The Invitation.’ This one-off incident was only a small element of the cult’s larger scheme. The crimson lights in the dark are both unsettling and captivating.
