Patrick James Grant FRSA (born 1 May 1972) is the director of bespoke tailors Norton & Sons of Savile Row, apparel brands E. Tautz & Sons and Community Clothing, and textile producer Cookson & Clegg. Since 2013, he has served as a judge on the BBC Two reality show The Great British Sewing Bee, which will move to BBC One in 2020.

Grant has been praised for revitalising Norton & Sons since taking over the company in 2005. In 2009, he relaunched E. Tautz as a ready-to-wear company, for which he received the British Fashion Awards’ Menswear Designer award in 2010.

According to Grant, “My parents believed it was in my best interests for me to be away from home. Their two boys were there, as were their good friends who live not far from Barnard Castle.

So they knew the school and said it was a terrific rugby school, and I was a rugby fanatic.” He was a member of the Scottish rugby union’s U18 and U19 teams while at Barnard Castle.

After school, he took a gap year and played rugby for West Hartlepool R.F.C., but his rugby career was cut short due to a shoulder injury. Barbour, Burberry, Hunter, Lyle & Scott, and Pringle were among Grant’s early fashion influences.
