A lawsuit was brought against Wang in February 2012 on the grounds that his business had mistreated its employees and had broken New York State labor laws. For a total of $450 million, the 31 plaintiffs requested $50 million for each of the nine allegations.
Wenyu Lu, one of the employees, claimed he was “hospitalized for several days after he passed out at his work station because he was forced to work 25 hours straight without a break.”
Workers were allegedly required to put in 16 or more hours a day without overtime or breaks at the 200-square-foot 19-square-meter office on Broadway, according to Lu.
