Better Call Saul Season 6 Episode 9: Broadcast, Development, Preview, Casting and Reviews

better call saul season 6 episode 9

The conflict between Gustavo Fring and Lalo Salamanca (Tony Dalton) was put to a brutal conclusion in the second part of Better Call Saul’s sixth and final season (Giancarlo Esposito). Now, Episode 9, “Fun and Games,” transports us to the day following Lalo’s passing and demonstrates how everyone is coping with all that happened that terrifying night.

Gus is prepared to proclaim victory and carry out his preparations to overthrow the Salamancas on one side. On the other hand, following Howard Hamlin’s horrifying murder, Saul Goodman (Bob Odenkirk) and Kim Wexler (Rhea Seehorn) are doing their best to maintain composure (Patrick Fabian).

Additionally, everyone on the Better Call Saul chessboard is doing their best despite the fact that each pawn has a different game to play. After all, life continues despite sorrow.

The sixth season was slated to debut in 2021 when it was ordered in January 2020. However, Gilligan stated in April 2020 that it would depend on if the actors and crew could film in 2020 as a result of the COVID-19 epidemic.

The sixth season expected to debut in the first quarter of 2022 was announced by AMC in February 2021. Gould preferred that all 13 episodes of the sixth season run once a week without the season being divided in any way, but he made it clear that AMC would be in charge of scheduling.

The season will run in two parts, Variety revealed in early November 2021. This was verified on the official announcement day in February 2022. With a seven-week hiatus in between each half, the first seven episodes debuted on April 18, 2022, while the last six episodes debuted on July 11, 2022.

Compared to Breaking Bad’s divided final season, when the two halves aired a year apart, this hiatus was shorter. Since the first half of the season was eligible for the 74th Primetime Emmy Awards in 2022 and the second half began in June of the following year, the split permitted the program to nominate each half of the season for different Emmy Awards ceremonies.

Gould claimed that until AMC made the announcement, they were unaware that the season would be broken into two parts.

A Strong Foundation

Gus has eliminated the major impediment to his plan to establish a meth lab and make an attempt to seize control of the cartel’s entire drug operation after winning his final battle with Lalo. Hector Salamanca (Mark Margolis), who is yet resolved to get revenge on Gus, chooses to inform Don Eladio of what he knows (Steven Bauer). When Gus arrives at Don Eladio’s house, Bolsa (Javier Grajeda), Hector, and the Salamanca Twins are already there to greet him (Daniel Moncada and Luis Moncada).

Unhappy Farewell

Kim and Saul try their best to enjoy a typical day at work on the day after Lalo’s homecoming and Howard’s murder. Following their pattern will help them escape any suspicions after the police have discovered Howard’s car at the fictitious suicide scene, as Mike advises them.

In order to spread the myth that Howard was a drug addict, Saul and Kim each play a part. The turning point is when Saul and Kim come to terms with the fact that their falsehoods have caused a lot of sorrow and suffering at Howard’s memorial ceremony at HHM.

First off, following Howard’s passing, HHM is shrinking since it can no longer sustain its size after becoming embroiled in a drug addiction controversy and losing all of its key partners. Then there is Cheryl, Howard’s wife (Sandrine Holt), who doesn’t think her husband has ever used drugs.

9th Episode of Season 6 of Better Call Saul

Without Kim Wexler, Better Call Saul would not exist. The fact that I can say so is a true credit to Peter Gould, his creative team, and the amazing Rhea Seehorn, who developed a brand-new yet incredibly captivating character.

Seriously, it’s no accident that the show’s identity started to emerge as soon as Kim’s character had a more prominent role in season two. Although most viewers were drawn in by the obvious connection to Breaking Bad, Kim and her unresolved destiny became one of the main draws.

Somehow, speculating on what would happen to Kim surpassed worrying about where the program was going with Gene in terms of popularity.

Episode 9 of Better Call Saul Will Air and Be Available on Netflix

The ninth episode of Better Call Saul, titled Fun and Games, will air on AMC on July 18 at 9 p.m. and 8 pm. While it won’t be available for streaming until Tuesday, July 19. Every episode will be made available on Netflix the day after it airs.

Spoilers The conclusion of Lalo Salamanca’s stage in episode 8 undoubtedly heightened the anticipation for the presence of Walter White and Jesse Pinkman. According to Mag magazine, this decision will be crucial to Kim Wexler and Saul Goodman’s subsequent actions.

Saul Goodman is rumored to be hiding out as a cinnamon roll employee as a result of what transpired in Breaking Bad. The only thing left to do is wait for episode 9’s new difficulties to enter their lives.

At the 2018 San Diego Comic-Con International in San Diego, California, were Peter Gould and Vince Gilligan. Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould, the show’s creators Better Call Saul was picked up by AMC for a sixth and final season in January 2020.

It will have 13 episodes instead of the normal 10. This was verified by the show’s creator, Peter Gould, and AMC executives. The series will now have 63 episodes overall, one more than its predecessor Breaking Bad.

Gould remarked: “All of our aspirations and dreams when we first started this project, in my opinion, were to be able to convey the entire tale and make it a seamless narrative from beginning to end. We’re going to fight tooth and nail to make sure these 63 episodes land on their feet.”

Giancarlo Esposito predicted in April 2019 that the show will conclude with a sixth season since it was the “easy way” to do it, much to how Breaking Bad’s fifth and final season was divided into two parts, giving the impression that the latter half was the sixth season.

Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul, who previously played Walter White and Jesse Pinkman on Breaking Bad, respectively, would reprise those roles for the final season prior to the season’s launch.

Better Call Saul slows down after a startling comeback to deal Jimmy McGill and Kim Wexler a fresh type of blow to their lives following the life-altering catastrophe involving Howard Hamlin and Lalo Salamanca. The end product is a similarly powerful entry, but one that for the pair has more Marriage Story than Breaking Bad-like undertones.
