Over the past few weeks, a video of an old man dancing to Drake while being animated and wearing a pink jumpsuit has gone viral on TikTok.

He is a component of a filter that Jackson Quinn Gray, a 23-year-old artist, created for the app.

Horace’s inventor has encountered various challenges while trying to make him a viral success, despite the fact that people seem to be having fun using the filter as they dance with him in their videos.

Horace was originally created by Gray as an Instagram filter.

When Gray, a former art student from Ithaca, New York, originally created Horace, he was experimenting with 3D modelling on his laptop and shared a picture of the character on his Instagram account in October 2019.

The elderly man who served as a model in one of Gray’s undergraduate sculpture classes served as the inspiration for the character’s initial lack of clothing, the artist told Insider.

Gray claimed that his initial impression of Horace was one of a “tragic character” who was ageing and “in his own world”.

He explained that he wanted to make his painting into something that people could use and interact with while he experimented with animating the character on his laptop.

The first Horace filter was only temporary because it was removed for violating the nudity policy of the apps, according to Gray.

” Content “must not be of an adult or sexual nature, for example, nudity, portrayals of individuals in explicit or suggestive poses, or actions that are sexually suggestive or provocative,” according to the standards of Spark AR.

The day after creating Horace, on May 5, 2020, Gray wrote on Instagram, “When I developed Horace, I wanted him to bring some sunshine into the life of everyone at home who is experiencing boredom, alone, and uncertainty among such heavy-hearted circumstances.

Horace Was Initially Created in 2020 for Facebook.

Horace made his internet debut in 2020, despite the fact that he may only be relatively fresh on TikTok.

The idea for Horace came to 23-year-old artist Jackson Quinn Gray while he was tinkering with 3D modelling on his laptop in October 2019.

Horace was actually inspired by an older guy who had previously served as a model for one of Gray’s undergraduate sculpture seminars.

Horace’s original design included no clothing because Horace considered him to be a “tragic character” who was ageing and “in his own universe.”

Gray created a more interactive version of Horace after making a few additional adjustments, which he showed on Facebook in May 2020.

But Horace wasn’t taken down for “material of an adult or sexual character” for more than a week.
