Is Kid Cudi Gay?
Kid Cudi is a free spirit, and he shows it by dressing like a sexy woman in public, much to the consternation of onlookers. The ‘A Man on the Moon’ singer was photographed wearing an outfit reminiscent of a wedding gown while attending the 2021 CFDA Awards on November 11 in New York City.
And, sure enough, the Ohio native’s most recent outing attracted the ire of internet trolls when the vast majority of his followers labeled him gay. The famous hip-hop artist has been criticized online for breaking down gender stereotypes before.
During New York Fashion Week in September, Kid Cudi was criticized for painting his nails and wearing a long black skirt. However, everything escalated when the rapper showed up to ‘SNL’ in a white floral outfit.
The question remains, though: Is Kid Cudi gay? Though he has never spoken publicly about his sexual orientation, the rapper has dated a number of stunning women in recent years.
Scott Ramon Seguro Mescudi, better known as Kid Cudi, was born on January 30, 1984, in Cleveland, Ohio. Elise and Lindberg Mescudi are his parents, and he is the youngest of their four children.
Cudi’s father passed away from cancer when he was 11 years old, and the loss profoundly influenced both his character and his music. After two years at Shaker Heights High School, he transferred to Solon.
He was kicked out of school for making threats against the principal, but he eventually went on to graduate high school. When Cudi tried to enlist in the US Navy after a year of studying film at the University of Toledo, he was turned down because of his record as a juvenile offender.
Profession in Music
When Cudi was in high school, he decided he wanted to be a rapper, so he moved to Brooklyn and lived with his uncle. His first full-length project, a mix tape titled “A Kid Named Cudi,” was released in 2008 and caught the attention of Kanye West.
After West signed Cudi to GOOD Music, Cudi began working as a songwriter and guest vocalist for other artists. Rolling Stone and other publications labeled Kid Cudi an up-and-coming musician after seeing him perform at the 2008 MTV Video Music Awards.
In 2009, Kid Cudi released “Man on the Moon: The End of the Day,” his first studio album. The album peaked at #4 on the Billboard charts, and Cudi’s debut single, “Day ‘n’ Nite,” topped the charts around the world.
RIAA has awarded the album with a double platinum certification. Man on the Moon II: The Legend of Mr. Rager, his second studio album, debuted at No. 1 on the US Rap and US R&B charts and at No. 3 on the Billboard 200.
Cudi and his frequent musical partner Dot da Genius later formed the rock band WZRD. Their 2012 debut album went straight to the top of the Billboard Top Rock Albums chart upon its release. In the same year, “All of the Lights” won Cudi his first Grammy for Best Rap Performance.
In 2013, Kid Cudi released his next solo album, Indicud, which debuted at number one on the US Rap and US R&B charts and number two on the Billboard 200. Cudi and Jamie Baratta, an entertainment attorney, have been in an on-again, off-again relationship since 2009. They had achieved great success as a couple in the music business.
In March of 2010, Cudi and his wife welcomed a daughter, Vada Wamwene Mescudi. Cudi’s custody battle with his ex-wife lasted the entirety of 2012. There were rumors that Cudi had given up custody because his child’s mother had accused him of being an absentee father, having violent tendencies, and having a “long history of consistent drug and alcohol abuse.”
In a statement, Cudi and his lawyer denied the allegations, saying that Cudi had not given up custody and that a drug test he had voluntarily submitted had returned negative. In addition, he could show that he had been providing for his daughter financially all along.
The official custody arrangement and all its particulars are kept strictly confidential. To be near his daughter, Cudi has recently bought a home in Chicago.
