Facebook Launched Reels Like Instagram Globally in 150 Countries

In an effort to broaden its fastest-growing content format, Facebook is launching its short video feature Reels in more than 150 countries, according to its owner Meta Platforms on Tuesday.

Reels have been emphasized as a top goal by the social media behemoth, which recently saw a third of its market value decline following a poor earnings report.

Reels, Meta’s response to the wildly successful short-video app TikTok, which is owned by Chinese internet giant ByteDance, was released on Instagram in 2020 and on Facebook in 2021.

Facebook Introduces Global Ads for Instagram Reels

Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta, posted on Facebook on Tuesday that “Reels is already our fastest growing content format by a long shot, and today we’re making it available to everyone on Facebook globally.”

The business also unveiled new options for creators to monetize the Reels feature, which it claims now makes up half of the time users spend on Facebook.

It announced that it was extending its program to provide bonuses to creators in new nations and experimenting with overlay ads with banners and stickers so that producers might generate ad money. Soon, full-screen commercials between reels would be introduced.

In its most recent earnings report, Meta acknowledged that it had been negatively impacted by Apple’s operating system privacy changes, which have made it more difficult for businesses to target and track the effectiveness of their Facebook and Instagram advertising. It also mentioned macroeconomic problems including disruptions in the supply chain.

The 18-year-old internet titan already issued a warning that it anticipates sluggish revenue growth in the upcoming quarter as a result of greater user time competition and a shift in engagement toward less lucrative features like Reels.

In addition, Meta stated that it would introduce changes to allow users to create and view Facebook Reels in new locations, including the Stories feature, the Watch tab, and the top of the news feed. Users may also get suggested Reels in their feed in some nations.

Last but Not Least, Meta Also Discloses Monetization Options for Facebook Reels Producers. the Business Is Growing Its Reels Pay Bonus Initiative. Part of This Rewards the Qualifying Reels Up To $35,000 (about Rs. 35,000) in Additional Nations.

Additionally, It Is Extending Facebook Reels Overlay Ads Experiments to All Producers in More than 150 Nations. the Companies Are from More than One Country, Including the Us, Canada, and Mexico.
