Fox News Media Names Joe Dorrego CFO, COO (EXCLUSIVE)

The crucial financial engine of its parent company, Fox Corp., will lose its current chief financial officer, Amy Listerman, and be replaced by Joe Dorrego, a Fox Corp. official, who will also serve as the business’s chief operating officer.

Listerman’s resignation will take effect on April 1. She started working there in April 2017.

“Amy has worked with our entire team for the past three years, and I want to thank her for her vital efforts. In a note to workers on Friday, Fox News Media CEO Suzanne Scott wrote, “We understand her desire to move on to new possibilities and we will miss her entire and tireless dedication to all areas of our business.

Fox News contributes a sizeable portion of the company’s operating income to Fox Corp. through the fees it collects from cable and satellite distributors. Following Fox’s sale of its cable and studio holdings to Walt Disney last year, it has become increasingly significant to the business.

Fox Corp. markets itself as a more specialized media corporation with a portfolio of live news and sports events. As the nation’s live sports schedule is disrupted by the coronavirus outbreak, Fox Corp. will be even more reliant on Fox News programming to draw substantial audiences and subscriptions.

Dorrego has worked at Fox Corp. for more than 15 years; most recently, he served as the company’s executive vice president of corporate initiatives and chief investor relations. As we continue to drive development across all Fox News Media channels, he will be a huge asset, Scott added. At the parent company, Dorrego will remain in his position as investor relations manager.

Prior to working for Fox News, Listerman was Scripps Networks Interactive’s CFO, senior vice president of advertising sales, and head of ad-sales data strategy. She was in charge of the roughly $2 billion advertising sales division’s financial revenue and cost control.

She started working for the company in 2012, and in 2016 her position was expanded to include leadership of the Scripps data and analytics division, where she oversaw a 35-person team spread over the departments of finance, data science, and digital research and insights.

Additionally, she worked for Procter & Gamble and Goldman Sachs in finance management positions. Prior to this, Dorrego worked for Fox Television Stations as CFO under CEO Jack Abernethy for a period of four years starting in 2015.

He worked for 21st Century Fox for 11 years in a range of executive positions, including vice president of investor relations and vice president of finance, where he was in charge of the organization’s financial planning and analysis operations.
