Professional Life Of Michael Keaton

Though he began his career as a stand-up comedian, Michael Keaton developed into a multitalented actor who is adept in comedies, gritty dramas, and blockbuster action films. Initially, he utilized his manic onscreen persona to great effect in early hits such as “Night Shift” (1982) which put him on the map, and “Mr. Mom” (1983) which made him a star.

But it was his wild performance as a perverse ghost in Tim Burton’s “Beetlejuice” (1988) and his compelling dramatic performance as a cocaine addict attempting to regain control of his life in “Clean and Sober” (1988) that revealed his true talents.

When he won the title role in Tim Burton’s “Batman(1989),” he reached new heights. When the film was finally released, the majority of critics agreed that his menacing performance was inspired.

After the inevitable sequel “Batman Returns” (1992), his career went into a commercial and critical decline with films such as “Jack Frost” (1998) and “Quicksand” (2001), which were barely seen. His acclaimed performance in “Live from Bagdad” (HBO, 2002) served as a reminder that he was capable of playing any role in any genre or medium.

After establishing a solid career as a character actor, he returned to the public eye with a career-defining performance in the Oscar-winning film “Birdman” (2014). Michael Keaton’s late-career renaissance was demonstrated by his performances in “Spotlight” (2015), “The Founder” (2016), and “Spider-Man: Homecoming” (2017).

Michael Keaton’s Property

In 1989, Michael paid $1.5 million for a Santa Barbara, California home. He then sold this home for $3.1 million in 2011. In 2016, he spent $5 million on another property in the Santa Barbara area. In 2018, he listed this 20-acre ranch estate in the Summerland neighborhood for $8.72 million.

He paid $1.3 million for a large property in Los Angeles’ Pacific Palisades neighborhood in 1987. He still owns this piece of property in the year 2020. Despite the majority of his real estate holdings being in California, he has a ranch in Montana that is over a thousand acres in size. He is said to spend a lot of time on this ranch, and notable people like Huey Lewis, Tom Brokaw, and David Letterman live nearby.
