Lil Nas X is an American rapper, singer, and composer. Probably the song that made Lil Nas X famous was “Old Town Road,” which fused rap and country music to create something completely new. The song initially gained popularity on TikTok, but it finally did well on the charts in other countries and was certified diamond in 2019.
The LGBTQ community recognizes Lil Nas X for his leadership and influence. Soon after “Old Town Road” was released, he publicly declared his sexual orientation. This has never happened before to any musician whose record was currently at the top of the charts.

After initially denying any connection to the Nicki Minaj fan accounts, he eventually acknowledged in 2020 that he had been hiding the truth out of fear that others would assume he was gay due to his obsession with Nicki Minaj.
He had not yet come out when the allegations first surfaced. When Lil Nas X suppressed the fact that he was a fan, Nicki Minaj simultaneously congratulated and criticized him for it.
As 2019 progressed, Lil Nas X redoubled his efforts for a future in music. He began his musical career by paying homage to fellow New York City rapper Nas by assuming the moniker Lil Nas X and beginning to write and record music under that monicker.
In 2018, he spent $30 to license “Old Town Road” from a Dutch producer named YoungKio. The producer made a lot of money off of Lil Nas X’s success since YoungKio uploaded the song to an internet store that gives producers a lot of money in royalties.
