Splatoon 3 Nintendo Switch OLED Console Is Available Now

Splatoon 3, the third entry in Nintendo’s online shooter series, will release on Nintendo Switch next month, bringing the colorful Inklings and Octolings back to the spotlight.

Splatoon 3, like its predecessors, is a four-versus-four team shooter centered on inking the most territory, but it adds a plethora of new modes and concepts, such as new special weapons and an expanded solo storyline, to keep the experience feeling fresh.

Find out when Splatoon 3 will be available, how to participate in this weekend’s free demo and everything else you need to know about the next game right here.

Free Splatfest Demo

In preparation for the debut of Splatoon 3, Nintendo is hosting a free demo called Splatfest World Premiere.

The trial is available for download now, but all you can do at the moment is take a stroll through the game’s core region, Splatsville, and test out the game’s brief tutorial. Splatfest, a Nintendo event taking place on August 27, will give gamers the chance to fight against one another in the game’s iconic Turf War mode.

Splatoon Switch OLED

In preparation for Splatoon 3, Nintendo has released a special Splatoon-themed Nintendo Switch OLED system. The console, together with its purple and yellow Joy-Con controllers and themed dock, is now available for purchase. The total price of the system is $360, which is $60 more than the price of a regular Switch OLED.

In addition, Nintendo will release a special Splatoon-themed Pro Controller for the Switch. Splatoon splatters and emblems cover its blue and yellow grips and it goes on sale on September 9 alongside the game. The price tag on this controller is $75.

In preparation for the debut of Splatoon 3, Nintendo has announced that it would reissue a number of previously released Splatoon Amiibo, such as the Squid Sisters and Off the Hook.

DLC

Splatoon 3 will continue to receive free upgrades long after it has been released. New content like weaponry, levels, and game types will be added to the game every three months for a total of two years.

Additionally, Nintendo has announced that it would be releasing “massive” downloadable content for Splatoon 3 for a fee. There has been no official word, but the teaser image featured silhouettes of Splatoon 2’s most beloved idols, Pearl and Marina. Details, according to Nintendo, “will emerge at a later time.”
