After Ever Happy (also known as After Ever After or After Forever in some countries) is a 2022 American romantic drama film directed by Castille Landon and based on a screenplay by Sharon Soboil.
It is a sequel to After We Fell and the fourth installment in the After film series, based on Anna Todd’s 2015 novel of the same name. Josephine Langford and Hero Fiennes Tiffin reprise their roles as Tessa Young and Hardin Scott, respectively, in the film. The plot builds on the premise of the previous three films.
When Will ‘after Ever Happy’ Be on Netflix?
After Ever Happy, the fourth installment in the teen romance film series After will be released on Netflix in multiple regions, including the United States, in December 2022.
The After films, based on Anna Todd’s novels, are frequently chastised for their poor screenplays and, at times, atrocious acting. Despite this, they are profitable and popular in many parts of the world.
Following the three subsequent films released annually since 2019, a fourth film is set to be released in theatres on September 7th, 2022, after premiering in London in August 2022.
Beyond the fourth film, Castille Landon hinted at other projects in August 2021, telling Variety, “I’m working on some other projects in the “After” universe, but I’ll keep that vague.” After Everything is the title of the fifth film, which has since been confirmed and is currently in development.
Voltage Pictures is the film’s US distribution company, which sells it to Netflix as an Original in some regions and as a licensed title in others.
After Ever Happy Plot
The new film picks up after the events of the previous installment in the franchise, After We Fell, which ended with a major surprise – Tessa’s new boss Christian Vance is Hardin’s father, which comes as a huge shock to both Tessa and Hardin.
According to the synopsis of After Ever Happy, that revelation will lead Hardin and Tessa to realize that their differences aren’t as great as they once thought – but it will also bring a few more difficulties into their relationship.
“As a shocking truth about a couple’s families emerges, the two lovers discover they are not so dissimilar,” it says. “Tessa is no longer the sweet, simple, good girl she was when she met Hardin — nor is he the cruel, moody boy she fell head over heels for.”
Meanwhile, a new synopsis teases: “Hardin and Tessa are maturing, and they may never be the same.” Despite defying all odds, their next chapter will either bring a fairy tale ending or finally end their passionate yet toxic relationship.
“Will they stick together or be torn apart when a revelation about the past shakes Hardin’s impenetrable façade to its core – and Tessa suffers a tragedy? Hessa’s life will never be the same.”
As with the previous three installments, the fourth film is based on Anna Todd’s novel of the same name.
