Josh Allen is a quarterback for the National Football League team Buffalo Bills (NFL). Allen played college football at Wyoming, where he won the most valuable player award in a bowl game. The Bills picked him with the seventh pick in the 2018 NFL Draft.
Allen had a big year in 2020 when he led the Bills to their first division title and playoff win since 1995 and got them to the AFC Championship Game. His first two years of play were not very good. He also set Bills franchise records for passing yards and touchdowns in a single season.
He was named to the Pro Bowl and the second-team of All-Pro. The next year, Allen led the Bills to their first division title since 1991. He also became the first quarterback in NFL history to score a touchdown on every offensive possession of a game.
Joshua Patrick Allen was born in Firebaugh, California, on May 21, 1996. Allen was raised on a 3,000-acre (1,200-hectare) cotton farm near Firebaugh, California, a small hamlet located around 64 kilometers (40 miles) west of Fresno, California. His family has lived in the area since his great-grandfather moved there during the Great Depression.
His great-grandfather came from Sweden in 1907 and moved to the U.S. His father’s grandfather started the farm where he grew up in 1975. He also served on the local school board for many years and gave his name to the gym at Firebaugh High School, where Allen graduated in 2014.
Allen was a big Fresno State fan as a kid and went to games and football camps often. He tried to get the attention of the team’s coaches; his father tried to convince the Bulldogs’ head coach at the time, Tim DeRuyter, to give him a scholarship, but DeRuyter turned him down. DeRuyter wasn’t the only one who thought this way about Allen.
No NCAA Division I program, whether it was in the top-level FBS or the second-level FCS, gave him a scholarship. Allen was given the chance to walk on at San Diego State, but he turned it down because Aztecs coach Rocky Long couldn’t promise that he would get to play. Mark Schlabach, an ESPN reporter, wondered in a 2017 story about Allen why he didn’t get much attention after high school:
Josh was about 6 feet 3 inches tall and 180 pounds at the time. He hadn’t been to the top quarterback camps and wasn’t a well-known prospect. Josh and many of his high school teammates were busy playing baseball and other sports, so they didn’t go to many 7-on-7 camps. He had the most points on his basketball team and could throw a fastball as fast as 90 miles per hour on his baseball team.
At a time when many families who want their kids to get scholarships told them to specialize in one sport or switch to the school that would give them the most exposure, the Allens resisted both of these trends.
After Allen’s junior year was his best, they turned down offers from better Central Valley programs and kept him at Firebaugh. They did this because “you bloom where you’re planted” is a family motto.
Allen played more than one sport in high school, and he also worked often on the family farm and at the Firebaugh restaurant that his mother ran.
Allen was a part of the local chapter of the National FFA Organization at Firebaugh High School. Allen has won many awards for his work and knowledge in agriculture. In 2014, he was in the top four in the country for producing a variety of crops like cantaloupe, cotton, and wheat.
Is Josh Allen Gay?
Josh Allen is not gay. He has a straight sexual orientation. Allen is currently involved in a romantic relationship with his girlfriend Brittany Williams.
Allen and Williams have known each other since they were kids and have been together since 2017. She was there when the rookie was picked up by the Buffalo Bills in 2018, and she often posts photos of herself at Allen’s NFL games cheering him on.
On January 25, 2022, Williams put a photo of the two of them on Instagram with the words, “Year 4 ✔️ So much to be happy about… It’s amazing to see how hard you work every day to be the best football player, teammate, and leader you can be. Despite the ups and downs of this season, you stayed calm and sure of yourself, and it showed every time you took the field.”
“I really don’t know how you balance everything, but you always do it with a smile on your face and the biggest heart,” she said. “I Love You ❤️ @joshallenqb.”
In October 2022, Allen and Williams went to Game 2 of the NLCS between the Padres and the Phillies. While they watched the game in a private suite, Williams took a selfie of Allen and himself. Both Williams’ Instagram story and Fox’s coverage of the game showed the sweet moment.
