People have said that Mike James Holmes, a Canadian contractor, is the most trusted contractor in North America.
He became well-known for helping people figure out what was wrong with their newly renovated homes. Because of the problems he found, sometimes the house had to be built from scratch.
His reality shows are based on how he helped Holmes. He was the main character in Holmes on Homes, Holmes in New Orleans, Holmes: Makes It Right: Retooled, and most recently, Holmes 911.
Mike and Alexandra Lorex got married when Mike was 19 years old, in 1982. They were happy together and had three children Amanda, Sherry, and Mike Jr.
Mike’s business was hurt badly by the recession in the early 1990s. His problems in business also made things hard at home. So, Mike and Alexandra grew apart and eventually broke up.
Mike’s relationship with his kids didn’t change because he got divorced. Amanda, Sherry, and Mike Jr. all work in construction like their dad, and they are often on Mike’s show.
On his Instagram page, you can see how close Mike is to his children. He recently posted a picture of Amanda in a bear costume on Instagram with this caption
“This one is for the Holmes working behind the scenes. I’d like to wish my daughter Amanda a very happy birthday! I only get to share a photo of her once a year, so I have to make it count. Love you, kid.”
In the early 1990s, Mike’s life was a mess. He had lost his marriage, both of his parents had died, and he was about to lose his business. His business did well, though, and he met Anna Zappia.
With her help, he built up his construction business and started working in TV.
Holmes didn’t want to watch reality TV, but his family and coworkers persuaded him to give it a try. Even though there were problems at first, the first season of Holmes on Homes aired and was a huge hit.
When Mike went into the construction business, he didn’t want to become famous or rich. Instead, he wanted to teach homeowners and get more people interested in the field. A post he made on Instagram on August 8 shows that his priorities haven’t changed
