Where is Brendan Dassey Currently?
Brendan Dassey is still in jail. Dassey turned 31 in 2022 and was still serving his life sentence. He was sent to Oshkosh Correctional Institution in Wisconsin, USA. Dassey was arrested at 17 for first-degree murder in the Halbach case. He was even accused of raping and disfiguring Teresa’s dead body.
Brendan Dassey pleaded guilty in court after police questioned him four times. The police officers questioned the man for 48 hours. But Dassey’s lawyers said he was wrongly blamed for the murder he didn’t do. They also said that the police officers forced him to admit to this murder.
Since there is no DNA evidence against Dassey, his lawyers asked the court to let him go. Dassey’s videotaped confession was the only piece of evidence. So, his lawyers thought that he was sent to jail solely because he admitted to doing it.
