You know, your typical day at school is followed by a night at fashion’s biggest event. Who doesn’t understand? But what happens next? That is one secret I will never reveal. JK. JK. Here’s everything we know about the third season of Gossip Girl so far.

Is There Going to Be a Third Season of Gossip Girl?

HBO Max recently announced that it will not renew Gossip Girl for a third season. The show was canceled, and the series finale will be available on the streaming service on January 26.

Gossip Girl Season 3

According to Variety, HBO Max issued the following statement:

We are very grateful to showrunner/executive producer Joshua Safran and executive producers Stephanie Savage and Josh Schwartz for bringing us back to the Upper East Side and all the scandals at Constance Billard. Although we are not moving forward with a third season of Gossip Girl, we thank them for the enticing love triangles, calculated backstabbing, and impeccable fashion this series brought to a new audience.”

What Could Be the Plot of  Gossip Girl Season 3?

If the series is picked up elsewhere and a third season is made, the only thing we know for certain is that it will most likely take place during the first semester of senior year.

“I would definitely love to keep the show going,” Safran told Harper’s Bazaar shortly after season 1 premiered. “I engineered it so that every season is a semester so that we didn’t get into the problem the first show got into, which was by season 3, they had to go to college.

Which I believe was the correct decision at the time. Of course, looking back, you could have stayed in high school longer. If each season is a semester, and they are now juniors, they will attend college in season 5.”

To cut a long story short, if the series moves on, expect to wait a long time for more gossip. There are six seasons of the original to keep you busy until then. Blair and Serena are still available to keep you company!

How Does Season 2 of Gossip Girl Conclude?

The second season of Gossip Girl is currently airing eight episodes. This simply indicates that there is currently no conclusion to the show. We have seen how Audrey and Max are attempting to rebuild Kiki’s reputation at the expense of Aki’s feelings for the past eight episodes, as the plot of season 2 nears its conclusion. In addition, the future of Gossip Girl appears to be in jeopardy, as Kate has been given an ultimatum regarding it.
