Surviving the post-apocalyptic zombie attack on ‘The Walking Dead' for eleven seasons is quite an accomplishment. And few characters survived the walkers, most of whom died by being bitten by them or being killed by Negan.
Carol (Melissa McBride) and Daryl are the only two characters who have made it through the difficult eleven years together through thick and thin (Norman Reedus). Fans were disappointed when the series ended because they could no longer see Carol and Daryl together.
However, the showrunners have created a spin-off series that will solely focus on Carol and Daryl, which is very exciting news for fans. Carol is the last surviving member of the Peletier family after her daughter Sophia's death in the episode ‘Pretty Much Dead Already'.
Does Carol Die In The Walking Dead?
Carol is the most powerful character in the entire Walking Dead universe. She survives the walkers, Negan, and the many deaths that surround her. The good news is that Carol does not die, but Daryl and she continue on their separate paths. Carol has lost a lot along the way, but she has always maintained a close relationship with Daryl Dixon.
They share similar stories of abuse, forming an unbreakable bond. Carol was supposed to be killed in the episode ‘Killer Within,' but Sarah Wayne Callies, who played Lori Grimes, convinced the producers to kill T-Dog instead.
Carol, unlike the other characters, received the best ending of all. In the final moments of ‘Rest in Peace,' Daryl leaves for his spinoff, but Carol stays behind in a very emotional scene, deciding to stop running and take responsibility in the Commonwealth, perfectly bookmarking her time on the show.

What Makes Carol's Ending Different From Comic Books?
Carol from the series is not the same as Carol from the comic book. Carol was not portrayed as the perfect mother in the comics, as she is in the series. She neglected Sophia to pursue other relationships because she was constantly seeking validation and attention from others. Carol is portrayed as self-sufficient in the show.
Most unexpectedly, Carol from the comic book was not designed to survive in a dystopian, zombie-infested world. She isn't particularly good at defending herself or others, and she has little desire to improve. Carol outlived everyone in the series, but in the comic, she commits suicide.
