In the Film ‘Dog,’ Does the Dog Die?

Channing Tatum, who made his directorial debut with Dog, revealed during the film’s promotion that the film is inspired by his own adventures with his actual puppy. However, unlike his tragic real-life road trip, Dog’s Lulu does not die.

“We thought we were making a really good decision. We were just like, ‘Oh, it will be a really small little movie, really contained — me, a dog, in a car, on a road trip — small, little, attainable movie.
