After fighting against creatures in “The Last of Us” and shooting Imperial warriors in “The Mandalorian,” Pedro Pascal has finally found his next significant project, which is the horror drama flick “Weapons.”

The veteran actor from “Game of Thrones” has reportedly sealed the deal to play the main character in the upcoming film “Weapons,” which will be directed by Zach Cregger.

The actor-turned-filmmaker earned critical acclaim for his efforts on the hit horror movie Barbarian, which was released in 2022 and served as his debut as a solo feature director. Barbarian also marked his debut as a writer.

The plot of the movie is characterized as an “interrelated multistory horror epic,” but further information regarding Pascal’s character is being kept under wraps for the time being.

Cregger will be directing Weapons from a script that he created, which apparently has a similar tone to Paul Thomas Anderson’s Magnolia movie from 1999. Cregger wrote the screenplay for Weapons.

The undertaking was declared public for the first time in January 2023, shortly after New Line Cinema emerged victorious in fierce competition with a number of other large studios and streaming services for the rights to produce a horror drama.

Cregger, Roy Lee, and Miri Yoon of Vertigo, as well as Raphael Margules of BoulderLight Pictures, will also serve in the capacity of producers for the next film.

Tropico, The Uninvited, and My Dentist’s Murder Trial are just a few of the other films that are currently in the pre-production phase of their respective productions. The actor is scheduled to appear in a combined total of eight different films and television shows.
