Does Coors Support LGBTQ? Since 1873, Coors has been a well-known brand of beer. Did you know, though, that Coors also helps the LGBTQ community? In this post, we’ll talk about how Coors has helped the LGBTQ community and shown it cares over the years.
Does Coors Support LGBTQ?
Coors has been helping LGBTQ+ causes and groups for a long time. Denver Pride says that in 2000, Coors was one of the first companies to offer perks to same-sex domestic partners. Coors also supported the Marriage Equality Act in 2015 and gave $50,000 to the Pulse Victims Fund in 2016.
Coors also gives more than $300,000 a year to more than a dozen LGBTQ organizations across the country, like the Human Rights Campaign, Matthew Shepard Foundation, National Amateur Gay Athletics Association of America, National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce, LGBT Victory Institute, Out & Equal, and One Colorado.
How Does Coors Light Support the LGBTQ Community?
Through its products and ads, Coors has also shown that it supports the LGBTQ community. As part of its Tap Into Change program, Coors Light released rainbow-colored cans in 2018. Part of the money made from the sale of these cans went to local LGBTQ causes.
There were a few places in Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, Dallas, and Columbus that sold the rainbow cans. Coors Light and The Center on Colfax teamed up in 2021 to support the Denver PrideFest Parade, which is one of the biggest Pride events in the country.
Coors has also been praised for having policies and a culture that are welcoming to LGBTQ people. The HRC Corporate Equality Index, which looks at how companies treat their LGBTQ workers and customers, has given Coors a perfect score of 100% for 15 years in a row. In 2015, the National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce named Coors the Corporation of the Year.
Coors isn’t just a name for beer, as you can see. It also helps and stands with the LGBTQ group. Coors thinks that everyone deserves to be treated with honor and respect and that diversity and inclusion are good for business and for society as a whole. All year long, Coors is happy to celebrate and support the LGBTQ community.
Molson Coors is happy to have gotten a perfect score of 100 on the Human Rights Campaign Corporate Equality Index. This index looks at how companies treat LGBTQ people both inside and outside of the company. Its ERG is called LAGER, and it helps LGBTQ workers and allies create a safe, welcoming, and equal workplace for everyone.
There are chapters at the company’s headquarters in Chicago and at its breweries in Golden, Milwaukee, and Shenandoah. Each group plans community events and volunteer programs and promotes diversity and equality in the workplace. This helps Molson Coors become one of HRC’s “Best Places to Work for LGBT Equality.”
