In 2006, That 70s Show came to an end. Since then, many of the people who were in it have had great careers. Danny Masterson, who played Steven Hyde on the show, has been in many movies, such as The Bridge to Nowhere and The Chicago 8.
Then, in 2016, Masterson got a major part in the Netflix comedy The Ranch. He starred with Sam Elliott, Ashton Kutcher, and Elisha Cuthbert, who he had worked with on That 70s Show.
But in 2017, when five different women accused him of sexual abuse, his career went downhill. The role he played on The Ranch was written out of the show that year and the actor had no other jobs. Masterson still told fans to keep watching the show, even though he had to leave it quickly.
Masterson has been found guilty and could go to jail for up to 30 years. It looks like the actor’s career will never be the same again.
Danny Masterson’s Career Was Ruined by the Accusations Made Against Him!
In 2017, Danny Masterson was at the center of a big scandal after five women accused him of sexual abuse. Since they had reported the actor, two years later, four of the women chose to sue Masterson and the Church of Scientology for invading their privacy and trying to get in the way of the law.
The star was caught and charged with three felony counts of rape three years later. This led to a long line of court cases. After making a $3 million bail in March 2020, the star was free to go. But things did not end there.
Masterson had a new hearing in April and May of this year in Los Angeles, California. The star of “That 70s Show” was found guilty of two of the three counts of rape on May 31. But on the third charge, the jury was split 8-4 in favor of convicting them.
As of today, the star is being held without bail at the Men’s Central Jail in Los Angeles. He will stay there until he is sentenced, but no one knows when that will be. Masterson could go to jail for 30 years or for the rest of his life for his crimes.
When the Scandal Happened, Danny Masterson Was Fired From the Ranch!
In 2016, Danny Masterson was chosen to play Jameson “Rooster” Ford Bennett on The Ranch, a Netflix comedy show. Masterson and Ashton Kutcher play two brothers who help their father, played by Sam Elliot, run a Colorado cattle ranch.
Even Wilmer Valderrama, Kurtwood Smith, and Debra Jo Rupp, who were on That 70s Show, were often on the show. “Due to current talks, Netflix and the people who make The Ranch have written Danny Masterson out of the show. Monday was his last day on the show, and production will start up again without him in early 2018.” Netflix said in a 2017 statement.
So, Masterson’s character was taken off the show when the third season came out in 2018. In the third season of The Ranch, Rooster has a fight with Nick, the boyfriend of his ex-girlfriend Mary.
In the next episode, it is revealed that Rooster’s motorcycle went off the side of a dangerous road. In the end, his character disappeared and was thought to be dead.
Masterson stuck by the cast and crew of The Ranch even though he had to leave the show quickly because of the sexual attack claims against him.
“The Rooster may be missing, but @THERANCHNETFLIX is back and it’s amazing,” the star wrote about the show’s title on Instagram. “Please come see this great show that we worked on for years.
The group is more than amazing. The writers were given the worst-case situation possible, but instead of giving up, they worked harder to come up with new stories that were both sad and funny.
Then, he made sure fans knew he didn’t have anything bad to say about the show’s cast and crew. “I’ve worked with most of the crew since the mid-1990s on Cybil, 70s, Men at Work, and until last year, The Ranch,” he said. He went on, “They are my family.”
“They shoot for 10 to 14 hours a day to make you smile for 30 minutes at a time. Help them out. Help funny things. Support work. Help the Bennett family and the Iron River ranch. Love to you all. DM.”
Danny Masterson Was the Only Original Cast Member Who Didn’t Show Up in That 90s Show!
This year, the That 70s Show spin-off series on Netflix came out. The show is called “That 90s Show,” and it takes place in 1995. It follows a new group of characters, such as Eric and Donna’s daughter Leia and Red and Kitty as they go about their daily lives.
Even though many of the original actors were in this new show, Masterson wasn’t one of them. In fact, his character, Hyde, wasn’t even named, and a flashback scene from the original show didn’t even include him.
Because of the scandal, it’s clear that Masterson wasn’t asked back to That 90s Show. Even though this happened, the actor still helped out his former co-stars.
He praised Kurtwood Smith and Debra Jo Rupp on Instagram, saying, “This is literally the coolest thing I’ve heard in a decade.” He also made it clear that he wasn’t happy with the choice of the show’s creators and directors to leave him out of this new project. I’m excited to see it and laugh at it. Same authors, writers, and directors as in the 1970s. Stay tuned with Crossover99 for more Latest News.
