Ciara Cain sustained a gunshot wound to her head on Tuesday, June 6, 2023, at Howard Avenue before she was pronounced dead according to a social media post by her mother. She was pronounced dead after some days at the hospital.
The Middletown Division of Police received a distress call at about 14:30 hours that a female was suffering from a gunshot wound.

It was reported that Richard Shelby Adkins was responsible for the shooting. After a short foot pursuit of Richard Adkins, he was later apprehended and transported to the Middletown City Jail where he would be charged with Felony assault.

Ciara Cain’s funeral service will hold on Tuesday, June 20, 2023, at Megie Funeral Home and Crematory Craver Chapel which is located at 529 Main Street, Milford Ohio. Friends and family are also invited to lay their respects and offer condolences between 5 pm and 7 pm and the service commencing by 7 pm.
The family has also requested that instead of flowers memorial donations be directed to the funeral home and the contributions will honor Ciara’s memory and support the funeral arrangements in her honor.
