Recap For Frieren Episode 9

Episode 9 of Frieren was titled “Aura the Guillotine” and was released on 3rd November 2023. In the episode, Granat is saved by Fern and Stark in the town church, where he informs them that Aura’s secret weapon is a magical relic known as the Scales of Obedience, which gauges how much mana both she and her adversary have.

That’s how she’s built an army of puppets: the person with more mana can then control the loser. After destroying a few of Aura’s puppets, Frieren concludes that she can kill her like a monster because she still doesn’t understand humanity. After returning to the city, Fern and Stark are ambushed by Lügner and his helper Linie.

Even though the demons are winning the fight at first, Stark discovers that Linie has imitated Eisen’s fighting technique by watching him in action. He then takes advantage of this knowledge to deliberately block a blow from her axe to kill her. By using her primary advantage—being able to cast spells faster than even Frieren—Fern takes the initiative, eventually overwhelming Lügner’s defenses and killing him.
