Usher Raymond IV is an American singer, songwriter, and dancer.
Usher is back on the road after a short delay.
The R&B icon, 45, launched his much-anticipated Past Present Future Tour with two sold-out performances at Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C., on Tuesday, Aug. 20, and Wednesday, Aug. 21.
Earlier this month, Usher revealed that he would need to delay the first three shows of his eagerly awaited tour due to a neck injury sustained during rehearsals. Initially, he announced the postponement of the Atlanta show scheduled for Aug. 14, followed by the decision to reschedule two additional performances.
In his statement on Aug. 15, he detailed the reasons behind the necessary postponements, “My hope was that with physical therapy and medical treatment, I would be able to overcome the injury and be ready for opening night”. “Unfortunately, the injury has not healed yet, and my doctors have instructed me not to perform any shows this week.”
The previous dates have already been rescheduled for Dec. 9, Dec. 10 and Dec. 12.
At the Aug. 21 concert, Usher thrilled the audience by featuring Washington, D.C. artists Wale, Raheem DeVaughn, and E.U.’s Sugar Bear. Wale delivered hits like “The Matrimony” and “No Hands,” DeVaughn charmed with “You,” and Sugar Bear got the crowd moving with “Da’ Butt.”
Usher’s next tour stop is Baltimore, where he’ll perform at the CFG Bank Arena on Aug. 23 and 24. The North American leg will conclude with a three-night series in Atlanta this December.
The European leg of the Past Present Future Tour begins on March 29 at London’s The O2 Arena. After an eight-night run in London, Usher will take the stage in Paris, Amsterdam, and Berlin before wrapping up the tour back in London in May.
